As of 1:00pm on Sunday, April 19, 2020 the Drop In Centre location will be temporarily closed. In collaboration with our community partners, we have been working towards coordinating our services to support our more vulnerable community members. This has also created the opportunity to be able to bring staffing resources together to continue the work we need to do.
Along with our partners at the County of Wellington and Wyndham House, we have been able to place individuals that are homeless into approximately 75 local hotel rooms (Interim COVID Shelter).
As a community we have also opened the Supported Isolation Centre which has capacity to care for anyone who is homeless that needs isolating due to awaiting COVID-19 screening results, or has a positive COVID-19 test. Referrals are only received through the Guelph General Hospital or the COVID-19 Assessment Centre (151 Victoria Road N.).
We have also collaborated with our downtown partners to ensure that meals are still available.
Meals are being served at two locations in the community:
Mon-Thurs at 10am: Lakeside Hope House (10 Cork St. E.)
Mon-Sat at 1pm: Royal City Mission (50 Quebec St.)
Mon-Sat at 6:30pm: Royal City Mission (50 Quebec St.)
